A Letter from Auberle CEO, Darla Poole

Dear Auberle Community,

Every day at Auberle, we see the power of innovative, effective, holistic, and collaborative human service programming that transforms lives - one individual, family, and community at a time. Thanks to our generous supporters and partners, this past fiscal year, Auberle served over 5,000 individuals and families across Pennsylvania.

Our tailored solutions address the diverse needs of our friends and neighbors, leading to lasting generational change that creates socioeconomic outcomes for the entire region.  We could not do this work without your steadfast belief in our mission and vision.

I am deeply proud of the agency's 2024-2025 accomplishments, and even more proud that our community continues to show up for Auberle in significant ways. Our 21st Annual Voices Carry event was the most successful yet thanks to record setting engagement from our supporters. Our Board of Directors and stakeholders are guiding an evolving strategic plan for continued resiliency and strength to deliver critical services. Finally, our staff is deepening their leadership skills through the inaugural Auberle Leadership Development Academy. Together, these initiatives are laying the path for success in the years to come.

It is my honor to share agency-wide updates below and as we continue this work. We warmly invite you to join us in creating a positive, prosperous future for all.

With gratitude,
Darla Poole, CEO, Auberle

Leadership Development: Key to Auberle’s Community Impact

"We have so many talented individuals at Auberle and we designed this initiative to support their leadership development. It’s important that we invest in our employees’ growth and development so that we are continuously cultivating the next generation of Auberle leaders." - Aimee Plowman, Chief Operating Officer, Auberle

Leadership Development is an important element at Auberle. We have hundreds of examples of employees who have developed professionally and experienced career growth opportunities over the years, including our CEO Darla Poole and COO Aimee Plowman.

This year, Auberle, under the guidance of Aimee Plowman, launched the Auberle Leadership Development Academy (ALDA). Why did we launch this now? “We have so many talented individuals at Auberle and we designed this initiative to support their leadership development. It’s important that we invest in our employees’ growth and development so that we are continuously cultivating the next generation of Auberle leaders,” says Plowman.

“While this type of work has existed at Auberle for a long time informally, we are excited to launch a formal academy dedicated to continue the impact Auberle makes in our communities.”

This first year of ALDA started with an application and selection process, followed by orientation and monthly interactive sessions various leadership topics such as Emotional Intelligence and Communication, Foundations of Leadership and Self Awareness, Time Management and Prioritization, Decision-Making, Supervisory Skills, and Peer Leadership. ALDA also includes a mentoring component; each participant is matched with a seasoned leader at Auberle to foster professional development, enhance job satisfaction, and support career growth.

Congratulations Aimee and the inaugural class of future leaders on continuing to strengthen and grow our teams!
